NPE is the world's second-largest exhibition in the plastic industry, meanwhile which is the largest exhibition with longest history in the United States.The exhibition is organized by the Industrial Plastics Association of America which founded in 1946, the event is held every three years and successfully went through 25 edition, which has a profound global influence. The exhibition contains a wide range of exhibits, on the basis of previous editions, with the addition of bottled materials and equipment, as well as medical materials and equipment this time. The exhibition has attracted over 2100 companies from 130 countries to participate and over 51000 buyers to visit. Market Analysis

There are over 1.5 million employees in plastic products industry in the United States, and with approximately 850000 employees from upstream suppliers, there are approximately 2.35 million people engaged in jobs related to the plastic industry, accounting for about 2% of the total labor force in United States. From 2016 to 2020, recyclable plastic market is expected to have a global compound annual growth rate of 4.31%. The United States is the dominant player in the global recyclable plastic market, accounting for approximately 50% of the market share. The plastic industry in the United States is steadily rising, and industry demand continues to rise.
"According to data from the World Trade Organization (WTO), the trade volume of the plastic industry in United States increased significantly by 9.7% in 2022, surpassing global commodity trade, highlighting strong demand for plastics," said Dr. Perc Pineda, Chief Economist of PLASTICS. As per global trends, the apparent consumption (demand indicator) of plastic industry products in the United States has increased by 13.7%, from $345.9 billion in 2021 to $393.3 billion today, highlighting the positive impact of plastics and plastic products on the entire economy.
In the field of plastic industry, China remains an important partner of United States, firmly occupying the third largest market in the United States, only behind Mexico and Canada. In addition, statistics from Chinese customs show that in 2021, the United States became the second largest market for China's plastic machinery exports, accounting for 9.51% of sales (358 million US dollars).
In the first quarter of 2023, the bilateral trade volume between China and United States reached 1.2 trillion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 4.5%; China's direct investment stock in the United States is 1.3 trillion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 3.7%; The stock of US direct investment in China is 1.2 trillion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 2.9%. These data fully demonstrate that China and the United States are economically interdependent and mutually reinforcing.
