The conference fully shared and exchanged information about the Ethiopian market and add confidence of Chinese enterprises in investment and trade in Ethiopia.


Analysis of investment potential in Ethiopia:
The population of Ethiopia is 120 million people, about 21% of which live in cities. More than 60% of the population between the ages of 15 and 65 is productive workforce. It is Africa's fifth largest economy, whose GDP reached $110 billion in 2020. Ethiopia is a popular destination for FDI in East Africa，whose investment has reached $4.3 billion in 2021. Over 300,000 university graduates and 367,000 TVET graduates enter the labor market each year, with easy rail access from Djibouti to Modjo (a dry port city 70 km from the capital). In Ethiopia， there are freight trains carrying 35,000 to 4,000 tons of cargo per day, strong air connectivity with the largest cargo network and terminals in Africa, and 60 cargo routes to over 131 international destinations, and low cost green energy tariffs of 3 cents/kWh.
